Question: If Community isn’t renewed and this is your last day on set ever, what will you take away from this experience and what will you miss the most?
Gillian Jacobs: I’m going to cry. It so far exceeded my expectations of what the show would be. This is one of the best pilots I’ve ever read, so already my expectations were high. Then shooting the pilot -
[Jacobs begins to cry.]
Yvette Nicole Brown: Oh, it’s OK, Stinkers. She’s such a pretty crier. My God, she’s a pretty crier.
Gillian Jacobs: I’ve never worked with a group of people that have impressed me so consistently on such a daily basis. I feel like given the nature of this show, we’ve been thrown everything from an action movie to a noir to My Dinner With Andre. Everybody rose to it every single week. The writing and the creativity and the scope and the ambition of the show has been— [Jacobs’s sobbing becomes ragged.]
Yvette Nicole Brown: Oh, well. I can’t sit here and not hug you.
[Brown and Brie embrace Jacobs.]
Gillian Jacobs: Yeah. For all the people that have only heard about our show—it’s spoofs, it’s pop culture, it’s genre—they’re missing the fact that these are different, new characters on television that people have grown to love. So even when we do an episode which is set in the apartment and there’s no obvious spoof or takeoff, people still want to watch it because they love and care about these characters.
[Brie begins to cry.]
Yvette Nicole Brown: Oh, Stinker, what’s happening? Oh, my girls. Oh, my little pumpkins.

So I know you guys are just fucking dying to know about my beauty regimen. I have always sworn by Pond’s cold cream, but recently I stopped using cold cream to remove my makeup and just started gently scrubbing it off with warm water—I say that as if it were a conscious decision but really I left my cold cream at my parents’ house and was too lazy to buy more—then splashing with cold...

I'm obsessed with this show. →
I can’t believe I’m only just now discovering it, but “I Just Want My Pants Back” is a brilliantly aestheticized version of my life.
Remember when Nick-at-Nite used to run old eps of “Bewitched”? Now it runs “That ’70s Show.” When did this happen?

Who in the real world says this?
“Until I get my job back, I’m making it my job to make yours a living hell!”
Seriously, “General Hospital,” seriously?

This is pandering like WHOA. But I don’t care. Yay for representation of gays in mainstream culture that doesn’t reduce us to campy attachés.

Nick, I love you, but this sounds a tad disingenuous.
Yes, you supply all the content, but you get the social situation that the network enables. Sure, it’d be nice to get more. Heck, I’d love an extra $50 (and presumably a yearly payment based on however much the company makes in ads), but that’s unrealistic to ask. Just as it would be unrealistic to ask for the cafe you...

Facebook Is No Longer Cool →
Although I kind of agree with the conclusion (Tumblr is far cooler at this point), and I kind of like the now-that-it’s-gone-public-it’s-lame rationale, I completely disagree with some of its premises.
“The generation which en masse hasn’t created anything worth noting except for debts on their parents credits cards. Anything, but Facebook.” This statement is...

Muck Rack: Is it time for political journalists to... →

A recent New York Times article revealed that politicians are using Twitter to monitor the press, raising the question should political journalists change their behavior on Twitter?
The article, written by Ashley Parker of The New York Times, describes how Republican Mitt Romney’s campaign…
